The Volta ao Algarve, Portugal’s answer to the Tour de France starts soon…

Dates 19^th – 23^rd Feb 2014

5 stages:

1. 19^th Feb – Faro / Albufeira 160km
2. 20^th Feb – Lagoa / Monchique 196km
3. 21^st Feb – Vila de Bispo / Sagres – 13.6 km
4. 22^nd Feb – Almodovar / Alto do Malhão ( Loulé ) – 164.5 km
5. 23^rd Feb –  Albufeira / Vilamoura  155km the finale being 5 laps around Vilamoura

Stage 5 elevation map:

The laps around Vilamoura are centred on the “Atrium” which is the small complex next to the currently closed petrol station housing the vets, Ali Super and the bank BES on Av. Eng. João Meireles AKA “the dual carriage way”.

Many international stars will be taking part, should prove spectacular, oh but what about the traffic?
